| Something has really been bugging me. Lets say good ol' mantinetrainer posted a joke on someone elses topic to lighten things up. Uh-oh, here come the 'spam police'
It would go something like this...
MantineTrainer: "Joke, lol!"
BMM: Don't spam. I posted to tell you this, therefore scoring a post myself.
Now, I'm REALLY having a problem with you guys not letting a few jokes past your filter and then posting yourself, therefore not solving anything.
To conclude:
1)Lighten up.
2) don't be a hipocrite.
Over and out. | |

| i am simply trying to set an example, so others don't think "hey, you here about that Mantinetrainer guy" "yeah" "the one with the mantines" "yeah, i know him" "the one spamming around in the forums!" "yeah!!!"
*super mantinetrainer SpamPG it is the only one to piss BMM off....*
but i digress hahahaha but seriously michael
the news forum is serious stuff so if you want to joke post around in the discussion forums
or, i can just start deleting your posts if they're spam...
don't take this too seriously guys

| I guess there is no way to defeat this. Shuckle posted to tell us we were spamming, then i'm posting to defend myself. How about this:
I realized that a lot of posts could be classified as spam. from now on, I suggest:
ONLY spam-related thing people are allowed to get mad at is REPEATED nonsensical trash or VERY OBNOXIOUS random posts.
There should be no more calling someone a spammer for only 1 or 2 posts.
Over and out. | |

| I find that a lot of people have no idea how to moderate forums. No offense to you guys or anything. People see rules on other forums such as "do not spam", "do not troll", "do not flame", etc, and because they're never explained to the general users in detail, the user doesn't get to learn them. This is especially for users from forums such as Serebii.net. They are too big for their own good and so all the users who do not understand the rules constantly mark things as spam, flaming, trolling, etc, so that NEW USERS believe them to be correct and get the wrong end of the stick. The only way for people to learn things about moderating forums is to get experience by using forums. Do not use widely open forums like Serebii.net or GameSPOT for reasons mentioned in the last paragraph, but go to medium sized forums. Now you won't be able to pick up on the rules straight away and it will TAKE TIME. So everyone needs to stop trying to self-moerate other people and leave that to the admins. Now it doesn't help that this forum got a bunch of noob moderators at the start. (I'm not blaming anyone as every forum needs people to manage it) but I will point out THIS THREAD as an example. Brawley made a suggestion, MT came up with a legitimate counter-statement, and so Brawley locked the thread because he claimed MT was spamming when it wasn't spam at all. I will also point out another thread. One moderator accused MT of spamming. I pointed out to said moderator that MT did not spam at all because he was in fact replying to what somebody else in the thread had said. That moderator procedes to delete my post. In future, admins, you should keep an eye on members for longer before dishing out moderation powers. | |

| I agree. thats why i feel we should leave moderating to the admins for now and when the demand is there moderators can be chosen based on their skills/abilities/understanding | |
